THE REVIVAL ASSIGNMENT

 “STADIUMS, STREETS, and SCHOOLS!”

The heart of United Prayer has always been the pursuit of Revival. We define Revival as “Divine intervention in the normal scheme of things. It is such a manifest working of God that human personalities are overshadowed and human programs abandoned. It is man fading into the background because God has taken the field” (Arthur Wallis). In other words, the passionate prayer of the Revivalist is, “Take the field, God!”

Since United Prayer’s founding in November 2017, a constant intercessory cry for Revival has come up in our gatherings both large and small: “STADIUMS, STREETS, SCHOOLS!” Our prophetic assignment is to birth — through united, extraordinary prayer and fasting — a Revival that will shake the stadiums, revolutionize the streets, and reform the schools (all institutions of learning that is impacting our youth) of our land.

In the last days, God says, “I will pour out My Spirit on all people.” (acts 2:17)

THE REVOLUTION ASSIGNMENT

“Send Out Workers! Send Me!”

Revival leads to spiritual Revolution, which is the Christ-centred and God-honouring transformation of the key cultural spheres that influence our nation. For Revolution to occur, there must be a cry for change and Revival from God’s people. The intercessory cry of United Prayer is, “God, take the field!” And when the Spirit of God takes the field and heaven invades earth, we must be willing to be the answer to the prayers we pray and go where He wants us to go, say what He wants us to say, and do what He wants us to do.

In a time of Revival, Jesus will “send out” (literally, in the Greek in Matthew 9:38, “hurl forth, drive out”) workers into His harvest field, in the power of the Spirit, to bring transformation to society and people’s hearts. At United Prayer, our aim is to pray for radical, Kingdom-transformation in society and to empower Revivalists in the task of bringing deep change and nationwide spiritual awakening in our generation.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Jesus called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. (Matthew 9:37-10:1)

THE REPENTANCE ASSIGNMENT

End Abortion, Release LIFE

"Identificational Repentance" is a term referring to a type of prayer in the Bible which identifies with and confesses before God the corporate sins of one's nation, people, church, or family. This type of prayer often led to national Revival and spiritual awakening. We believe that the justice issues of our land are, in reality, corporate sins that require repentance. The call to repentance is made to believers first – people who are called by God’s name – and must be led by God’s people (2 Chron. 7:14; 1 Pet. 4:17).

We believe that abortion is the greatest sin of this generation – it is the justice issue of our times. The spilling of innocent blood has always greatly moved God’s heart in the Bible, and we believe God wants to show even greater mercy (not judgment, Jas. 2:13) on our nation that leads to Revival.

At every United Prayer gathering, we will be targeting the issue and curse of abortion in intercession. It is our conviction that this decade could be the turning point of abortion, if God’s people will pray. It’s time for the Church to align and move with the Father’s heart for a life-giving movement of adoption, foster care, and family in our land.

And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:7-8)

THE RECONCILIATION ASSIGNMENT

Turning the hearts of fathers to the children

Luke 1:17 promises that when the hearts of the fathers turn to the children, a nationwide spiritual awakening occurs and a generation is made ready for the coming of the Lord. Much of the issues our nation faces is a result of fatherlessness. At United Prayer, we seek to address this spiritual issue in prayer, intercession, and prophetic acts; we believe that God will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children that will result in national Revival.

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:17)
