Re-Digging the Wells of the Sunshine Revival

The purpose of the Australia Day Solemn Assembly is to set in motion a movement of prayer that will “re-dig the wells” of the Sunshine Revival.

The Sunshine Revival was a spiritual awakening that brought forth a powerful, pentecostal outpouring of the Holy Spirit. So influential was this Revival that it birthed a church that still impacts the city today, and a movement of churches that impacts the nation to this day. Many were saved in the Sunshine Revival, but it was not only a well of eternal salvation — it was also a well of Kingdom-power, healings, miracles, signs and wonders. We believe that God wants to reopen this well of Revival for a new generation and that He intends for this well to remain open for generations to come. The Sunshine Revival was a well for the Body of Christ to drink from, not just for pentecostal denominations.

We believe that when churches and believers today embrace this prophetic directive to re-dig the wells of the Sunshine Revival, it will usher in a new wave of Kingdom power that will bring transformation to Melbourne and impact the nation.

Then Israel sang this song, “Spring up, o well, all of you sing to it!” (Numbers 21:17)

“Send Out, Send Me!”

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Jesus called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. (Matthew 9:37-10:1)

End Abortion, Release LIFE

"Identificational Repentance" is a term referring to a type of prayer in the Bible which identifies with and confesses before God the corporate sins of one's nation, people, church, or family. This type of prayer often led to national Revival and spiritual awakening. We believe that the justice issues of our land are, in reality, corporate sins that require repentance. The call to repentance is made to believers first – people who are called by God’s name – and must be led by God’s people (2 Chron. 7:14; 1 Pet. 4:17).

We believe that abortion is the greatest sin of this generation – it is the justice issue of our times. The spilling of innocent blood has always greatly moved God’s heart in the Bible, and we believe God wants to show even greater mercy (not judgment, Jas. 2:13) on our nation that leads to Revival.

At United Prayer gatherings, we will be targeting the issue of abortion in intercession, towards the goal that the culture of abortion will be reversed and be transformed into a culture of life.

And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:7-8)

Turning the hearts of fathers to the children

Luke 1:17 promises that when the hearts of the fathers turn to the children, a nationwide spiritual awakening occurs and a generation is made ready for the coming of the Lord. Much of the issues our nation faces is a result of fatherlessness. At United Prayer, we seek to address this spiritual issue in prayer and intercession, believing that God will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children that will result in national revival.

And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:17)
