HUNGER

Day 5 of 12-Day Devotions | 7 May 2021 | Paul Magno

Arthur Wallis said, “Revival is Divine intervention in the normal scheme of spiritual things. It is such a manifest working of God that human personalities are overshadowed and human programs are abandoned. It is man fading into the background because God has taken the field.”

Are we truly hungry for God? Or are we content with His blessings on our plans? Without doubt, the latter is important in the normal scheme of ministry and Kingdom work; but the former is an issue that brings about the extraordinary - the spirit of Revival that turns entire nations into disciples of Christ.

By the way, the Great Commission’s (Matthew 28:18-20) emphasis is not the discipling of individuals, but of nations and people groups. The picture of movement into the Kingdom that we see in Scripture and Revival history is not the slow trickle of individuals, but the massive motion of entire people groups (households, villages, cities) turning to Christ in faith-filled allegiance.

So, are we truly hungry for God? Are we willing to abandon every unnecessary pursuit and allow every man-made work fade into the background, for the purpose of seeing God Himself invade and take the field? We will not see massive people movements into the Kingdom of God without this level of Divine intervention.

PRAY THIS:
Holy Spirit, take the field! The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus!” Do something supernatural in this generation by raising up such a hunger for You that the only satisfactory response is Divine intervention into the normal scheme of things. Take the field, Holy Spirit! You must increase, and we must decrease. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
